Smith family Brickmakers
« on: Friday 27 September 19 12:14 BST (UK) »
I need help finding the relationship between James Smith baptised 13 Jun 1810 in Debenham, son of Peter & Harriet; and Clement Smith born in Brandeston 1811. I have no baptism record for him. They both end up in Weeley Essex in the 1861 census & are brickmakers. Hard to believe they aren't related.

Hello
From the Suffolk Beneficiary Index Clement Smith looks like he is the son of Samuel Smith died 1850.
Samuel and Harriet Rogers married 29 Sep 1803 Ashfield cum Thorpe. He was a widower from Debenham.
Samuel son late baptism at Debenham born 20 Sep 1803 bapt privately 24 Oct mother late Rogers.
First marriage at Debenham seems to be to Ann Flick 23.11.1796.

It looks like Peter born 2.11.1766  is the son of John smith and Rose Tillett married 13.1.1766.

They do seem to be living in the same places and using the same names.
