Sandra, I'm still looking at all of Emma Zimmerman's documents!  On her passport application she says her birth was at Augustwalde, and the same on her death certificate.  The passenger list from 1922 lists her birth as at Marienburg.  This latter helped me cut down my list of THIRTEEN German Augustwaldes to just one.  Augustwalde, Marienburg, Danzig, Westpreussen, Preussen!

It is just SE of Gdansk, but was in Germany in 1922.  It is so complex.  I love it!
