Help wanted to find a birth record for Alice Edith Stewart, born St Nicholas, Aberdeen 1877. Pretty sure it was 1st August 1877.  Father's name George Stewart, according to her marriage certificate. Married Thomas E Flook 12.12.1899 Died 12.3.1969.
1877 Census shows her as a border living at 53 East North Street, St Nicholas, Aberdeen, with Jane Munro (62yrs), Jane Munro (19yrs) and Maggie Munro (9yrs) also a border.  I can trace Jane Munro back a few Census but not 1841,

There is no such birth listed for these names in 1877 - only a plain Alice Stuart, born 13/12/1876, dau. of a George Stuart, Printer (or Painter, hard to read) and Alice nee Rattray - born St. Nicholas, Aberdeen.

Thanks. What makes me unsure is the birth date. That is the only one I have been able to find that might fit. However her birthday was always celebrated 1 August and on all the other records her birth year has to be 1877 !!!

Help wanted to find a birth record for Alice Edith Stewart, born St Nicholas, Aberdeen 1877. Pretty sure it was 1st August 1877.  Father's name George Stewart, according to her marriage certificate.

What was the occ. of father George on her MC?

What info. is given re PoB on 1901 & 1911 census'?

What age (yob) is given on each & 1939 register, are they consistent with a birth yr of 1877?
What's her dob in 1939?

Add...Many people have been known to give wrong info. on certs. of all sorts for different reasons.

Add...It's also very common for illegitimate children in Scotland to go through life using their paternal surname.

Malky, on all the census records it states born St Nicholas, Aberdeen.
Annie, thanks.  Place of birth St Nicholas, Aberdeen. Her father was noted as Deceased at the time of her marriage. 1901 and 1911 Census ages agree with 1877. I have found out the dates of the censuses and worked it back from the August birthday.  Thanks.
