Mossop family
« on: Friday 04 October 19 03:23 BST (UK) »
My 2nd gt. grandmother was Elizabeth Mossop(1832-1917) from Ontario, Canada, married Robert Love.. Her father was Richard Mossop(about 1794-1872). My info is that he was born in Tipperary and at some point migrated to Simcoe county, Ontario, Canada prior to 1823. Does anyone know anything about the Mossop family from Tipperary?

What was Richard Mossop’s wife’s name?

Was he married in Ireland?

I had a look to see where name was prominent on Civil Reg (1864+)

Roscrea seems to be a good starting point if you have no location in County

https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0805  registers IF they were R.C.

He married a gal named Sarah Pearcy(1806-1834) but they wed in Toronto, Canada in 1823.. She was from county Down however.. Thank you for responding.

Thank you hallmark.. No info on where, just Tipperary. I will take a look at that info.

Hi,
Tom Mossop was in Rathmore Borrisokane in 1826.
A John Mossop was Ballycasey Uskane about the same time.
A Johnathan Mossop lived in Lishkinlahan Borrsiokane.
All quite near to each other.

The Liskinlahan map.
Where you see the N52......go south and you will pass Kilaganny, then you see Ballyrickard North, then the road crosses then where you see Ballinderry and Mertonhall, where it says Ballinderry, the triangle piece of land has a house on it this is where I was born. (I don't live there now)
