I was thinking Jamjar this could possibly be Johanna's daughter also named Johanna Bruce but born in 1869 who married John McDonald?

All the Bruce names on The 1874 sailing of the Eastern Monarch are one family  Johnathon/ Johanna McGrath ( Bruce).
I have no parent names for Johann McGrath.
Thanks you for all your help Jamjar.

According to an online tree (one of many), she was, and did marry John McDonald, and she was a twin.   The trees also report that Johanna senior was born 1838 in Offaly, Ireland.  One has parents as John McGrath, another with the middle name Kieran, and with question marks for mother Mary O'Sullivan.

We all take online trees with a grain of salt, they are like a sieve, some full of holes, and you will need to follow up with documentation etc.

In the link Reply# 6 that Jamjar gave you, one of the children was named Kyran, another form of Kieran?

Cheers

"...The only record I have of Johanna Bruce (nee McGrath) is from "Scotland" on the cemetery record here in NZ."

When did this Johanna die?.   Where is she buried....what cemetery?.

Is the death / burial for Johanna BRUCE.....that exact name?

Would the UK marriage cert give birthplace and father’s name?

That’s interesting, as the cemetery information, I previously posted, came from the Council’s website and no place of birth was listed.

The only other place that "Scotland" would be recorded is the Death Certificate.

English marriage certs for that period record fathers name & occupation but do not show places of birth for anybody.

I will ask the moderator to merge the 2 threads to prevent any duplication of info
