Does the 1841 census list relationships?
If so is Sarah a daughter or niece - have a niece who would fit if so.

sorry it does not state relationship but it is very possible she is relation and not daughter.

thanks anyway - i have a family bible which gives Richards children, that was apparently used in a court case, but it doesn't have a Sarah in it and has Esther as being about 6 years younger. i have found a niece called Sarah who's a couple of years older than the census age, based on her age a death, so it looks like she's a favourite.
