Langholm, Dumfriesshire - Roll of Honour photographs

I am currently finalising a Roll of Honour for Langholm, a small town in Dumfriesshire, which I have been researching for many years.

I have consulted newspapers, archives and regimental museums, unfortunately without sucess, for photos of the following service personnel.

Any assistance would be most appreciated with the remote chance to locate photographs.

Hello TMCC,

It might be possible trace descendants of the men for whom you are trying to obtain photos. It is likely that they would have some sort of photographic memories of a relative who had died in WW2.

This site isn't supposed to post information on living people. In order to research this it could well take some time and effort. I don't mind having a go but cannot promise to find people, or be quick in doing this. Do you have some sort of time scale you need to meet?

I did find that Thomas Moffat Tweddle left a widow by the name of Joyce Winifred Tweddle. When he died his address was: 12 Water Lane, Farnley, Leeds. This information came from the Probate that was granted to his widow. Thomas was born in 1916 in Dalton, Lancashire. He married in 1943 but didn't appear to have had children. They weren't married long before he died. It tends to bring it home doesn't it?

In this case it would be necessary to trace other family, may families of brothers, or sisters. There are four Family Trees on Ancestry for Thomas Moffat Tweddle, so there are people out there who are researching him.
