1851 census Harwich Essex
King Head Street
William Mathews 26 Hair Dresser
Eliza 30 wife
Robert Mathews 19 brother - ship wright
Thomas Mathews 17 brother - shipwright

All born Woodbridge Suffolk, close enough their parents were in Woodbridge at the time.
Robert and Thomas could have gone to Harwich to learn the trade.

Marriage possible for Robert Mathews 25 shipwright, 20 Thompson Terrace father William Mathews, Licensed Victualler
Ann Mitchell/Witchell 25 widow father William Woodbridge Cordwainer address 2 Thompson Terrace
31 May 1857 Stepney
Witness William Potter, Frances Mathews, with Mathews crossed out and in a different handwriting Potter added.

There is Frances Mathews again and Robert's father has the right occupation

On the census 1861 they have a child Robert age 3 will have to check his birth mothers maiden name

Frances Mathews full age  father William Mathews Publican married William Potter full age . Plater, father John Potter weaver deceased.
His address Pool Street, her address Stale? Street

Then
Frances Potter widow age 36 marries James Jones 31, blacksmith on 22 November 1863 at St Dunstan Stepney.
her father William Mathews, Licensed Victualler, his father George Jones, farmer
