Walton Nurseries of Aylesbury
« on: Friday 11 October 19 14:03 BST (UK) »
It looks like my ancestors own and worked at the above. I know John Leslie Bourne and his father John Edward Bourne owned it but I was wondering if anyone could point me to some photos and/or records of the company? I believe it was situated along the Wendover Road. Now a housing estate...

Thanks,
Richard.

Ah, sorry, it's mostly between the two world wars. John Leslie Bourne died in 1966 but was already living elsewhere by then so it may have already been sold.

Have you tried Buckinghamshire archives or maybe Aylesbury library.

There are lots of adverts on British newspaper archive up to 1953.

I had a quick look at the catalogue for the Centre for Buckinghamshire Studies and their photographic archive and couldn't see anything, but it might be worth giving them a call.  Also have you looked in the historic newspapers - large quantities of the Bucks Herald are on FindMyPast.

Don't think you will find anything at Aylesbury Library unless there is something in one of the local history books but it might  be worth contacting the Buckinghamshire Museum who also have many old photographs of the area.
