No, it doesn't mean they were definitely married. She's Jones on the 1891 census, but Davies in the 1892 newspaper. How is her name given on the cert? Is it Jones, formerly Davies? Although, her surname is Thomas in 1871.

My gggrandmother registered the births of her 2 children as if she was married to their father. They didn't marry until 2 years after the birth of the younger child.

Yes Elizabeth’s name is given as Jones, formally Davies.
I haven’t been able to find my grandmother Myfanwy Gwendoline, in the 1901 census, she would have been 8 yrs old. Could the children in the census with Mary Tudor be her siblings? or cousins?
Thank you so much for your help.😊

I Suspect the Mary G Jones aged 7 on 1901, granddaughter of Mary Tudor Davies, is Myfanwy

Agree with you there MB! The copy of the 1901 census that we see is the enumerator's copy so it's possible that the enumerator made an error with her name when copying up the household schedules. I doubt there would be time for another child and there is no registration for a Mary G Jones mmn Davies in Cardigan at that time.
Don't think they would have been cousins as Mary T appears to have had only Elizabeth.

No wonder I couldn’t find her!
I think have found William Llewellyn in the 1901 census, he is a border in Llandebie, listed as physician Surg. and single.
I haven’t been able to find any information, to prove he was qualified as a medical person,
Although my grandmother told me he was “chief surgeon in Cardiff hospital”

I've seen that referred to as 'occupation inflation'
