Corryn, Gadget,

I checked every Thomas death/burial that the Corbett One Name Study Group has published (over 200) and our Thomas is not amongst them.  ??? ???.
Perhaps he's at the bottom of Red Lake.  :D :D

Any chance that he died in another county/country or moved somewhere else and/or changed his name for some reason?

Have you followed up Margaret and the people mentioned in the documents?

I've checked surrounding counties.
If he changed his name I see little chance of finding him I wouldn't know where to start.
Next task is Margaret. If I can find her burial record I'm hoping that Thomas will be in the same place.

This looks a possible burial -

18 Jun 1816, Wellington - Margaret Corbett, aged 87.

If it is the correct Margaret, she would have been circa 27 at marriage.

Gadget,
I'm unravelling fast.  :D
I've been so caught up in the hunt for Thomas I'd completely forgotten about it. Thanks for the heads up.

Fisherman and Gadget

Back from a trip to Bridgnorth, Wellington and Ketley.
In Wellington All Saints Church found some Corbett headstones but not Thomas and Margaret.
Had a look around St Mary's church Red Lake but the older headstones were badly weathered.
I will go back next year and spend more time (eldest son wants to go on the steam train again).

Hope you enjoyed it all  :)

If Thomas was a labourer, there might not be headstones, especially if Margaret had to manage after his death.  Hardly any of my labourer families had them back then.

Had a great time.
There is so much to do in that area it's worth spending time there.
Apart from family research there is Ironbridge, Blists Hill Victorian Town and the Ironbridge Gorge Museums.

Hi Corryn,
Glad you enjoyed your trip.
Although you didn't find Thomas and Margarets grave you have seen the area where they lived.
I cant seem to find anything more about them. So I am thinking of leaving this on the back burner for now until I can get to the Shrewsbury and see if they have anything.
