Deans Grange Cemetery - headstone
« on: Sunday 20 October 19 12:16 BST (UK) »
Hi. I’ve spent a long time trying to find out what happened to my mum’s dad and finally found out that’s he buried in Deans Grange Cemetery, Dublin, St Nessan, 46 H1. Can anyone advise on whether au can find out if a headstone is erected on the plot? I found a site that had photos of headstones but trawling through them I didn’t find anything. Any advice would be of great help? I’m in Glasgow and do plan to visit but I won’t be over for a few months. If there is no gravestone I would like to go about putting one up for my grandfather and great grandparents (Kelly). Thanks

Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.

There is an email address on this page
https://www.dlrcoco.ie/en/cemeteries/burial-records

Perhaps an email enquiry to them would get you the info you need?

Boo

Thanks for your replies. Thanks for the link - this is the link that I used to trawl through but had no luck. Re email - I’ve already emailed this address to find out the location of the grave but I didn’t think they’d know if headstone on plot. Thanks for posting

https://dlrcc.discovereverafter.com/ database of the Deansgrange cemetery, they have Deceased Records online as well.
I'm a researcher in subject of White Russian emigres (first wave of Russian immigration after the Russian Revolution of 1917) in Ireland. I'll be happy to know about other Russian graves in Ireland.

I’ve found that link previously and that informed me who else was buried in the plot beside my grandfather. There is unfortunately no image of the headstone on this so I’m guessing there might not be a stone erected on the plot.

If you click on one of the St.Nessan's section on IGP there is an email address of the person who photographed the headstones in that section. (Hopefully still valid)
You could ask if the section is complete, last update was Aug 2019

and if the email is still working tell them what a great job they are doing.

I dropped in and checked earlier this afternoon - there is a headstone, surnames mentioned are Kelly and Reid.

I've attached the approximate location, and the reference of the rear of the headstone.

I'll add photos of the headstone here later..
