Alexander Craig, Kilbirnie
« on: Sunday 20 October 19 16:35 BST (UK) »
Trying to find death of Alexander Dean Craig, b.1871 in Dalry Ayrshire.   His parents were John Craig and Mary Wilson.   He married Marion Ferguson 1899 in Glasgow.   I cannot find any information for him after 1907.   Any help will be appreciated.

Nothing obvious coming up on SP Index unfortunately.

Have you found his wife in the 1911 census and how does she describe herself?

According to a tree on Ancestry he had a son David born in Glasgow in 1910 so is presumably on the 1911 census?

Same tree - Marion married Thomas Clayton Reid on 25.12.1914 and are shown as widow & widower so presumably Alexander died between 1910 & 1914

Not necessarily CaroleW he could have died before or just after the child David was born.

Wonder what it says and who registered David's birth.

As the children were both b Glasgow and the remarriage was Glasgow it seems more logical that his death would be in Glasgow & not Ayrshire

What is his occupation in 1911?  Just wondered if he was a seaman.  1901 occ is transcribed as Cransman and 1891 he is a coke labourer

I was unaware of a child named David b.1910 as there was a child named David born pre 1907 and as far as I know he was still living in 1911.   I will have to check that out.   I have tried Scotland's People but can find no death for him.   As far as I know Marion was a widow when she married Thomas Clayton Reid.
