The David born in 1910 is according to a family tree on Ancestry which may or may not be correct.

There is a child Mary Kirk Ferguson Craig born in 1907 ref on SP  644/18 202 District of Pollockshields, Glasgow and I think you will already know about her. The names all seem to fit with Marion's mother.

Looking at the 1911 SP Index and putting in Marion Craig brings up a Marion Craig aged 32 which would fit in with her birth year of 1879. Ref 644/18 35/24.

When I add another person i.e. her husband Alexander Craig birth year 1871 it brings up nothing. From this it looks as if he had died prior to the 1911 Census.

If I were you I would take a look at the census and that should give her childrens' names too.

Still nothing on Alexander Craig's death though.

Just had a look at the census and Marion Craig is described as a widow at that time.   So Alex must have died between 1907 and 1911.

Hi,

This could be a red herring but there is an Alexander Craig aged 39 on the England 1911 Census.
He is recorded on FamilySearch as being born in Ayrshire , Scotland and is a boarder/lodger in Middlesmoor, Yorkshire. His occupation is a crane driver …..and he is a widower.

Obviously, this could be a different Alexander Craig, but I thought I'd draw your attention to him
Looby :)

Alex Craig children's names are:  John, David, James and Mary.

loobylooayr - It is a possibility but I really don't know.   I don't think it will be because he definitely was not a widower as Marion, his wife, did not die until mid 1950.

Mirren - he could have lied about his marital status on the census. Marion could have been untruthful too  :'(
The couple may have separated and be calling themselves widow/widower - in Marion's case to save face . It did happen to couples .
Only a suggestion to consider  :-\  as I said , this could be a different man....

Looby :)

What is his occupation in 1911?  Just wondered if he was a seaman.  1901 occ is transcribed as Cransman and 1891 he is a coke labourer

Hi again Mirren,

Just noticed CaroleW's post -
In 1901 Alexander was a "Cransman" ? This is a transcription. Could it be Craneman?  You should look at the original on Scotland's People .
Interesting that the Alexander Craig in Yorkshire is a Crane Driver  :-\

Looby :)
