I think its a great idea to post to youtube and one I might do myself.
Its something that would appeal to the younger generations ie my Grandchildren :)

This is a slideshow video that I made using Pro Show Gold.

https://youtu.be/47Ipf5RyNnM

It is about the emigration to Canada of one of my ancestors and of their life there.

Following on from the links in this thread here is a video tutorial on creating a video slideshow in VSDC.

Do note that VSDC is primarily a video editor and creating a slideshow with a more dynamic content than just transitions will require a large amount of time.  That said it is very capable and best of all as Martin states its free.

Here is a demo of Pro Show Gold which is specifically a slideshow creator

Hi Colin,

Your video is really great.I really liked it.

I have an idea. It seems like Rootschat has a youtube channel. Maybe there could be a playlist for such videos...What do you think? :)

Thankyou for your kind comments on my video slideshow.

I looked at Youtube and Rootschat seems to be an individual, and for videos to be uploaded then the owner of the Channel or anyone with the access details can upload.

Probably better for a pinned post with just the link and no comments allowed on the pinned post.

Dear Friends,

I continue with another video with old photographs and with the baptism video of mine from 80s:)

It's really a strange feeling to see ancestors alive, happy in an old video...

That's lovely - beautifully done - thanks for posting.

I've got some old cinefilm of my parents (and a very young me  :o) which my brother had converted to DVD for me and I really should work on creating something similar for my family, adding these to old videos of my own children and putting in commentary.

Just not got enough time (or tbh technical knowledge) at the moment, but perhaps that's a better future project than a vague intention to 'write up the family history'.

Seeing what can be achieved is very inspirational, thanks again  :D
