I will also look, I love looking at other peoples family history and this sounds like a novel presentation! Please take certain comments with a pinch of salt, you haven’t done anything wrong  ;)

Thank you for pointing me to your YouTube films; they are a good way to engage younger media-savvy people.  Your website is beautifully put together as well.

Kind regards

Hi,

YouTube can be a great resource for family history research. I've read of people finding old videos of ancestors performing activities such as tight rope walking.  For myself, I found a video of a cousin's wedding. The cousin lives in another country and I wouldn't have known about the marriage let alone been able to "attend" the ceremony without YouTube.   Marion

Dear Friends,

I would like to thank you all one by one for your motivating comments. I'm really happy to read that you like the videos:) Thank you so much.

Honestly my first idea while i started this project was to find some relatives or some people who know them. But by time the project turned into an e-museum which shows the culture and history of Greek, Armenian and Italian people living in Turkey. Also during this time, i found two cousins and friends of my grandmother from her hometown.

Youtube is really good for such projects, cause unfortunately new generation doesn't read blogs or informations on instagram. All they like are videos and photos. That's why Youtube is a good source to reach new generation, tell them about history and genealogy as well...

Have a nice evening..

Hi Dimitri.

Keep it up.

Don't look upon your creation as a final result.
More of a version mk1. Just think what  (say) version 5 with loads of added functionalty and content.

Hi Dimitri,

What a fabulous presentation of your family history! I'm sure it will be an inspiration for others to do the same thing.  Thank you for sharing it with us, well done  :).

I think some members of Rootschat are understandably wary of clicking on unknown links as we do occasionally get "bad" links posted here.

Hi Dmitri,
That is a novel idea for preserving family history. Thanks for posting it, and sharing your links.
I might have to discuss this with my more tech savvy son.

I have just finished a course on digital photography and computers at my local University of the Third Age.  As part of it we were encouraged to choose a topic to make a movie using Windows Live Movie Maker.  As we needed more that 20 photos I was struggling until I thought of my family.  Admittedly most are more recent, but I managed to make a movie of Seven Generations of my Family.

Can I ask what program you used for your presentation?
