St Mary Magdelen , Stoke Bishop ( and St Johns Bedminster )
« on: Thursday 24 October 19 19:26 BST (UK) »
Does anyone know if the gravestones of St Mary Magdelen in Stoke Bishop have been transcribed ?
If not , is Bristol Record Office a source of help ?

Unsure of whether St . Johns , Bedminster info . required should be posted under Somerset...but here goes .
When it was cleared by demolition for the park and grassed area that sits there today , were the incumbents re-interred ? If so...where ?
Are there records that were transcribed of who was buried there prior to demolition and again is this information sourced within the records office ?
Any pointers would be very helpful before my next visit to the area , with thanks .

From a google search giving Find a grave for St Johns Bedminster:

'There have been at least three churches built on this site - the first lasting from 1003 to 1645, the second from 1663 to 1854, and the third from 1855 to 1940. The most recent church was destroyed on 24 November 1940, when it was completely burned out by incendiary bombs during the Battle of Britain. These ruins remained until 1967, when the site was completely cleared, the tombs and headstones removed, and the grounds made into a small park. Although nothing remains of either the church or graveyard, there are burial records from 1656 to 1965 in the Bristol Record Office.'
