Had a quick look.

There are definitely children at school in the 1939, with different surnames from the main householder, born in London.
However these could just be wartime evacuees, not related to those newspaper articles.  Not yet found an obvious 'Home'.

I let my Ancestry sub lapse due to a change in hours at work........so missing it! However index showed parents in Middlesex mum died in Edmonton Dec qtr that year.
I've sent mum in law home with a list of questions to ask her friend.
