Looking for any information on Elizabeth.

Elizabeth Coole born 1868 (c) Bristol. Cannot find her on the 1871 census but on the 1881/1891/1901 census she is described as a inmate (horrible term) at the Bristol City Workhouse in Stapleton Bristol. In 1903 Elizabeth dies.

Visited the Bristol record office, they looked at the admission book (I was not allowed to view myself) all they could tell me a couple had brought her there leaving no name.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Were they able to tell you when she had been left at the workhouse?

If no names were left, is it possible her name had to be invented by those at the workhouse?

The 1861 has about 30 entries for the surname Cool/Coole

I think it's more than likely she was illegitimate

Tenuous - an Elizabeth Coole married Charles George Jobbins Dec qtr 1870 Cirencester.  1871 shows Elizabeth b 1850 Northleach

Did they not say when she arrived at the workhouse?

Born 1868, and arrived in 1881 i.e. aged about 13, so she should know her own name.
