My grandmother Priscilla  Thompsonwas born in Millbrook, Southampton in 1878 ( She died in 1963).

Is this your grandmother's probate entry?  If so it may be worth getting a copy of her will for £1.50 (but be prepared for a long wait, some of us have been waiting weeks or even months for wills)

Someone suggested Ancestry.com was the best site to register with. Do you agree? I also want to search my Belfast family

Ancestry and FindMyPast often have free access weekends.  There may be a free access weekend coming up for Remembrance Day as they often do.

If you need any help with your Belfast family, start a new thread on the appropriate Ireland board, you will get help from the experts there.

Don't be too worried about middle names appearing as they were sometimes added at baptism.
My Example;
My late mother born 1935
Name on birth certificate was Shirley (no middle name)
Name on Marriage was Shirley Mary
Name on baptism was Shirley Mary.
I guess between birth and baptism her parent's decided to give her a middle name.
