It is my thinking that if he was a mayor of Stafford there may possibly be some biographical information on him somewhere. Although I have looked on line and not found anything. The William Salt library however does have a lot that hasn't been digitalised so it is still a possibility.

Could possibly have attended Glasgow Medical School, the Campbell's of Argyll were very influential in Glasgow.

The Will is very clear and written down the side of the last page is quite a lengthy piece of writing, dated 18 April 1792  and mentions

Mary CAMPBELL the Wife of Archibald CAMPBELL , Director of Physics, the nature and lawful children etc etc.

---

By Googling:

there is an article on familyhistory consultant.co.uk

''Lo and behold there is an annotation on the Will of Mary Lycett's father citing his daughter as the wife of Archibald Campbell, MD of Stafford.  The notes were required because the two people, brothers of Mary Lycett's mother, named as executors, had died before their work was done, and they died intestate too, which meant the line of inheritance had to be worked out."

?

Would there be a wedding announcement in the local press 1776.  I’ve seen old engagement announcements in the past.

Weston Hall? He must have been of some status then. I will follow this lead.
