Does anyone have access to, or know of the location of, a copy of "Fowler's new commercial directory of the principal towns and villages of the upper ward of Renfrewshire for 1827-1828"? Or any other directory earlier than 1829?
The Directories for 1829 to 1842 are available on the National Library of Scotland site and archive.org. The 1829-30 edition says it is the third edition, so I presume one was produced for 1827-28. Has it survived anywhere?
