Frederick Parsons, Stalbridge
« on: Friday 08 November 19 10:25 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to establish the precise address of my GGrandfather Frederick Parsons who lived in Gold Street Stalbridge in 1881.
The Schedule entry is 180 on Page 34 RG/11/2085 - Dorset Stalbridge District 7.
Frederick was a stone mason and my grandfather Walter had just been born (2 months).
I have a photo of a house in Gold Street which is believed to be their residence but I am looking for something a little more positive. Many of the properties in that street belonged to the Stalbridge Estate.
Can anyone please advise?
Thanks

Hi
I had a look at the Electioral register for 1890 and he is there but again no number.
It suggests that he qualified to vote because of he had  a dwelling house .So presumably he owned it.
A street Directory might help but I'm struggling to find one on-line.
The next Electoral entry for him is Ring in 1901.

Do any of their children have addresses on their birth or death certificates, or is it just Gold Street?

Had not thought of BC. Most of the BCs which I have sent for have only had the street name and not the number; one just had the name of the village. But I have sent for BC for Walter, just in case.
Thanks

It is unlikely that you will get a house number on that birth certificate.  Gold Street still appears to be without house numbers in 1911, this was not unusual at this time.
