Death of Thomas Chambers in Saskatchewan
« on: Wednesday 13 November 19 05:41 GMT (UK) »
I am searching for the death record of my great grandfather, Thomas Chambers.  He was born about 1860 in Ireland.  He married Margaret Hammond and had 3 sons. I think he was living in Prince Albert area of Saskatchewan when he died.  Probably between 1916 and 1926.

Son Henry joined the Canadian military and on paperwork dated May 1, 1916 he states his mother is a widow (Maggie Chambers) of Parry Sound Ontario he was sending her $10.00 per month.

He married while on active duty and a letter was sent to his mother in Parry Sound that the payments will stop. $20.00 per month then went to his wife.

Then when he first enlisted December 1915 he listed his mother Margaret Chambers as next of kin.
So her husband Thomas must have died in Parry Sound before 1916 or even 1915 when he enlisted.

ADDED Is this the correct Henry or did he fib about his age when he joined up?

There is a border crossing for Andrew Chambers born Parry Sound - 29 June 1936 - names wife Mary - child Bernice - Port of Arrival Eastport, Idaho.
Last address Kimberley BC. Nearest relative or friend in country from whence came was mother Margaret.

There is a Thomas Chambers born 1884 died 1925 Kimberley BC in this cemetery but it says father born Scotland. ???  Could that be an error and this be the son of Thomas and Margaret  ???

Frustratingly can't find an obituary for Thomas at moment.
