SAMUEL & MARY COLLIER, Mottram in Longdendale
« on: Friday 19 August 05 16:52 BST (UK) »
My Gt Grandfather and his wife were the schoolteachers at Hole Bottom, Newton, on the 1841 census.  Can anyone tell me if there are any records for this school and where it is?  I have found Hallbottom, but I don't know if that is the same place and cannot find out anything about the school!

4 of Samuel and Mary's 8 children were born there.  I would love to find more about the years they taught there.

Hello Christine
as you haven't had any replies yet, i thought to give you my 2 pence worth ;D I haven't a clue where Hole Bottom was but Hallbottom sounds a lot better ;D If someone can tell you where it is or was. Then you could try contacting  the nearest reference library  or family history society of the area and ask there. If you really stuck on finding info on a building.Ask Jeeves. Didn't it give census place in the census ???
