Life events for Earl Johnston son of George E Johnston

Earl Johnston is listed as son of George E and Carrie Johnston in Canada Census 1911.  It gives his birth date as June 1904. 
George and Carrie returned to USA. In 1914 in Montana Carrie married Jesse J Hopper. In 1916 George married Tillie (Matilda) Talboy.  In 1922 in Idaho Carrie married Frank J Brown.
The only information I can find on Earl is in the Canadian census. Information on his siblings life events is available. Would appreciate knowing his birthplace in USA, his death and any other information.

Can't access at mo - George E. Johnston - 1867 Gooderich Ont (perhaps that is  Goderich) - passed away aged 76 years. Marriage 1916 Residence Place Wash. - Death Date Abt 1943 Fast Pine street
Obituary Date 7 Oct 1943 - Obituary Place Petoskey, Michigan,
Spouse Matilda Talboys
Child Leo Johnston - Nora Elderkin - Harry Johnston - Earl Johnston

Sister Nora also died in 1969 - https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/68545254  It looks like her obit only says her 3 brothers lived out of state.

The obits are helpful. I now can assume he was alive in 1969 in Virginia.

I can see a death notice for Harry Edwin Johnston from 4 Nov. 1980 in the South Idaho Press that indicates he died on Saturday at University Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah and was cremated at Berg Memorial Center in Salt Lake City.  I'm not seeing anything that mentions survivors one way or the other.
