Elizabeth Lee d 1861-1871
« on: Thursday 21 November 19 14:28 GMT (UK) »
Hi
Does anyone have the information of Elizabeth Lee's death between (post July) 1861 & 1871.  She lived in High Elsecar part of Hoyland Nether, and was the wife of Charles Lee Timber Merchant.  She was born c1801 in Doncaster (as noted on the 1861 and 1851 Census).  Would be very glad if anyone can help please!  Also having trouble locating their Marriage details - the first child was born in 1821 so guessing its around that time.  Again, if anyone can help I would be very grateful.  Both are my 3x Gr Grandparents.
Thanks!

Not finding a marriage but it's possible to find out Elizabeth's maiden name by looking up the births of any children born late 1837 onwards.

I can see there was a Henrietta born about 1839 but not finding her birth registration - closest I can see is a Henrietta Ley born Dec 1838 Ecclesall Bierlow mothers name Gill
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

When & where were was Henry born /baptised

I can see that their son George was baptised at Conisbrough in 1823

If Conisbrough is relevant then there's also Esther Ann 1831 and Alfred 1833 baptised there with parents Charles & Elizabeth.

Added: Esther Ann becomes Ann Jackson - she and her young children are with her parents in 1861.

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth

Possible marriage:

18 March 1821 - Sheffield Cathedral - Charles Lee and Elizabeth Adams

24 December 1823 - South Kirkby - Charles Lee and Elizabeth Nodley
