I have someone who was a Tile Tenter in 1939.
Could someone please tell me what what she was doing.
My searches keep bringing up special offers on tiles and pictures of kitchens and bathrooms.  :D :D

Is that actually what the original says, or are you just looking at a transcription?

I don't think it says "tenter",though.

Are you able to put up part of the image so that others on here can see?

Is this the one in Herefordshire? It could be Tile Tester. There are only three people listed as a Tile Tenter in 1939 and the other two are transcribed wrongly.

Yes it is in Hereford.

The word is Te?ter, so how many letters can you put instead of ?
