She sure is, keyboard86.  Looks like she kept the date and the month, but the birthyear has had a few years shaved off.  Much appreciated.

Have you checked her date of birth on the 1939 Register?

Again, assuming it's the correct entry:

1939 Register - date of birth given as 1 November 1891 - and surname as Softly.

Isabella Watson marries Robert Softley (another mystery) in Newcastle Tyne in 1912.

What information have you got from the marriage certificate?

many thanks.  'no certificates sent for as yet. 
the name Mary is from family recollection. 

Isabelles and Roberts children found are correct (6) in total, but most born after 1912, so 1911 census no help.  Robert Softley did not remain with the family beyond the birth of the youngest in 1929.

I was just hoping that getting Isabelle and her partners on a census may help going back, as the black hole between 1911 and 1939 is problematic at present.  And I think locating Robert will be a job in its own right I need to tackle at some point.

PS if you look at the 3 I supplied, the mother of Robert  Softley was a Catherine and mother of Isabella an Annie both had a father William?

OK another Elsie Softley 1926 Newcastle upon Tyne. Possibly married a Bennett and died 1999 Newcastle upon Tyne born 6th December 1926

Also purchase the marriage certificate of Robert to Isabella!
