Elsie Elizabeth Allison
« on: Friday 29 November 19 00:34 GMT (UK) »
Hello:
I'm trying to locate a grave of the following person: Elsie Elizabeth Allison. Her grandson is planning a trip to the UK and would like to visit the grave. I was given that she died sometime around 1985 in or around Slough. I did a little search via Ancestry was able to locate a date of 1981 for somewhere in Gloucestershire. I figure given the unique forename and middle name this has to be the person. Any help in locating the town/city of death and/or burial place would be appreciated.

With thanks

Any idea of when she was born?  The 1981 death was b 3.10.1899

Was she previously Burrows married to Ernest S Allison in 1917?

Elsie Elizabeth Burrows December qtr 1899 Gloucester 6a 317

The 1981 death lived at 9 Granville St Gloucs and died 16th March.  She left a will

3 children born 1918-1925 www.freebmd.org.uk - ask grandson if they are his family.  If not - she is not the 1981 death

The 1939 shows Elsie with hubby Ernest and two children living in Gloucester.  If they stayed there then this could be Elsie's death

Not too sure if the third child l listed on free bmd is their child.  There is a wedding report in the Gloucester Citizen 3rd February 1947 of Sallis/Allison.

Parents mentioned for Allison don't match Elsie and Ernest.

The other Burrows/Allison marriage

Marriages Jun 1920
Allison    Alfred J    Burrows    Gloucester    6a   1002
Burrows    Florence C    Allison    Gloucester    6a   1002

I think Florence is probably Elsie's sister.

Hi

Quote
Elsie Elizabeth Allison. Her grandson

We need the OP to confirm the names of both his grandparents as we cannot assume the 1981 death is the right one.  We have no details of Elsie's birthdate etc or her husbands name.

The birthdate on the 1981 death reg corresponds with that on the 1939 register and husband was Ernest.

If grandfather was not Ernest - then the 1981 death is not the one sought.

I appreciate that Carole.  I was just putting the information on there for reference.  So if any of it is right we have saved doing some searching.

Hello:
Thank you so very much for all the information. I have passed the details along to the interested party. If this is the same person, can someone suggest how one could locate the burial place.

Again, thank you so very much for all your efforts.
Hopefully, we have a hit and I'll be back in touch.

All the best
