Living at Brickgarth. Birthplace Wales  :-X (Where FS and FindMyPast got birthplace Wales, Durham from is beyond me)

Not 100% sure but I think FindMyPast and FS have a sort of swapsies type collaboration for a few databases and I believe the 'transcription' of the 1911 census was done by FindMyPast and given to FS.

Yes, it’s curious that Elizabeth was apparently registered as Annie when they already had an Annie. Perhaps at the time they thought the first Annie was about to die but she pulled through?

Or perhaps Dad had a celebratory shandy too many on the way to the register office!

From NormanE
Thank you all for giving me very acceptable indegestion. I will need to gather my thoughts.
My wife, who by the way lived at Hetton le Hole in her youth often says to me " You're a good looker and a poor finder"  She is of course as always right and all of you have proved it.
Wonderful what you have done for me.
I will digest and come back
There are two ends from what you have al told me. The first relates to the 1911 census where James c 1867 is listed as married. The second concerns the birth of David Evans at Houghton RD

Possibly a child of Job Evans and Sarah Smith, who married in Houghton le Spring RD in 1914?
He appears to have died in 1915. Abode, Murton Lane (Durham Records Online free search https://www.durhamrecordsonline.com/NewSearch.php well worth using  :) )

Edit: burial here aged 36 hours https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSJW-PC64?i=741&cat=826060
