Does the Cape Argus have a searchable archive does anyone know? I ask because my great-uncle William Thomas Beckett Hensher deserted from the Royal Navy ship 'Crescent' at Simons Town in 1904 and I wondered if the navy might have posted something in the paper looking for him. Or were there any other newspapers at the time? Thanks Bev

I am not aware of a searchable database for South African Newspapers, but the National Library of South Africa does have Microfilms of post Newspapers which you can view there and for a small fee get them to print relevant articles for you.
