Hannah, (Ann or Nancy) Dain
« on: Wednesday 04 December 19 00:14 GMT (UK) »
I’m looking for proof that Hannah Dain of Edale was baptised in 1785 at either  Edale or Castleton.
Her name was either Hannah, Ann or Nancy! Also names of parents would be appreciated.

There is one in 1781: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NG77-9P8

Why do you think specifically 1785?

There other candidates, but not on the year you suggest.

Please accept my apologies jamjar  for time taken replying to you.
On a grave in Hathersage churchyard I have Samuel Wright d. aged 70 yrs. 1851
His wife Nancy,( Hannah or Ann)  d. aged 63yrs. 1848. (This would make  birth year 1748)
Marriage of Samuel Wright 3/Oct/1808 at Castleton Church. Bride was Hannah Dain of the same parish. Witnesses were John Proctor and Mary Dain.
Hope this helps.

Familysearch has a couple of possible baptisms

26 March 1779 Castleton parents John and Sarah

20 January 1781 Castleton parents Francis and Hannah.

Interestingly a John and Sarah also had a daughter Mary baptised Castleton 12 September 1787
