I can't find the death...between January 1896 and May 1900. Tearing hair out.

My apologies, in advance, for this, but:

If William, a Butler, was convicted of stealing from his employer, Mr Karslake, then on his release I cannot see him EVER being employed as a Butler again.  Whatever employment his children entered on their marriage entries is whatever they wished to say - sorry, but not necessarily the "truth" (how many fictitious fathers have we come across on marriage entries  ).
