I have come across a possible baptism for Jesse but it was taken place at Burslem, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire - so what are the chances of Jesse's parents travelling to have their son baptised at Burslem?

Well, it wasn’t to hide the illegitimacy, As that is clearly noted.
That PR is interesting, I paged through a few pages and it seems if you were illegitimate you don’t get to have a “place of abode” whereas all the legitimate births do!
Frustrating.

Please could you tell me what does PR stands for?

That's interesting re illegitimate children not having a "place of abode" recorded. I'll have to have a look at Abraham's (Mary Jane Wilkinson's illegitimate son) records.

The man at the Family Tree Centre didn't think they were Jesse's parents as it would have put Jesse as being born in 1806 and also he was born at Old Park.  There were quite a few Jesse Wilkinsons around, which doesn't help so it must have been a popular name at the time.

Parish register  :)

I agree, it seems unlikely that is “your Jesse”

The place of abode/lack of is probably a quirk of that particular cleric.

From GRO
WILKINSON,  MMN BISHOP
1837  S Quarter in "THE WOLVERHAMPTON UNION"  Volume 17  Page 196

Many thanks.  I've looked at GRO and found another unnamed Wilkinson boy born in 1841: -

WILKINSON, -       BISHOP
GRO Reference: 1841  J Quarter in WOLVERHAMPTON AND SEISDON  Volume 17  Page 311
   WILKINSON,  -      BISHOP
GRO Reference: 1837  S Quarter in "THE WOLVERHAMPTON UNION"  Volume 17  Page 196

So I'm wondering if they were born and died soon after hence no names?

Many thanks for PR - Parish register.  :)

I've been looking at old maps from that era, trying to find nearby churches to Old Park

From the list of the children baptised at St. Leonard's, Bilston, it seems that only Jesse Wilkinson and James Wilkinson (both are Engineers) were born at Old Park, Shropshire.  There are other fathers, who may be related, (still looking for their parents) but are born in other areas of Shropshire and they are all working as Engineers, Furnace men, Labourers, Keepers - possibly for the same company, which was set up by John "Iron-Mad" Wilkinson, linking to the first iron bridge at Iron Bridge and later, Bradley Works at Bilston: http://www.broseley.org.uk/miscfiles/Broseley%20Iron%20Mad%20Leaflet%202015.pdf?fbclid=IwAR13QmGrfEHwhE2JkGglAtNN4f8QavTqXwyRGiDiqKZ_WzZcwruce1sr0KY

I have found the parents of James Wilkinson's wife Elizabeth, nee Pool - thanks to her father Samuel living with them on the 1841 and 1851 Censuses as well as Elizabeth's brother Benjamin (on the 1841 Census). Both Elizabeth and Benjamin were baptised at Broseley, Shropshire.
Seeing that John "Iron-Mad" Wilkinson and these employees shared the same surname, am wondering are they related, i.e. cousins/nephews or was it a coincidence?

Would researching John "Iron-Mad" Wilkinson's siblings be of any use?: -

Isaac Wilkinson (1695-1784) married Mary Johnson (?-1786)

Seven children were born: -

1.John Wilkinson (1728-1808)
2.Mary (1743-1796) married Joseph Priestley (1733-1804)
3.William (1744 - 1808) married Elizabeth Kirkes and only had daughters.
4.Henry (1730-1756)
5.Sarah (1745-1775)
6.Joseph ?
7.?
