SP do not have subscriptions!

Pay-per-view by way of credits & very reasonably priced.

You join for free then you can check out their pricing & work out the price in Dollars.

I would suggest a look at the SP certs. for any help in progressing but I don't know what you may find as each parish & each cleric had their own ways of noting info?

Annie, just looked at Certificates as well and nothing!!!!!!
I note in your family names you have Currie.

James Fenton McLaren m Isabella Laidlaw Currie 29 Jan 1869
St Andrews Church Dunedin.  Isabella b 07 Mar 1833
Langholm, Dumfries Scotland.  Father Thomas Currie, b abt 1807 Dumfries.  Married Mary Beattie Scotland.
Thomas came out to NZ and farmed in Kaitangata.

Could the Currie family in my tree be connected to you??

My Currie line (as far back as I've managed) b c1800 c1795 South Uist, Inverness-shire, Scotland.

This chap died 1841 - 1851 i.e. pre Statutory Records from 1855 & have not so far found any siblings who died after 1855 although I haven't looked too hard  ;D

I have gone back as far as 1780.  Thomas father John Currie m Isabella Graham.  Got no further there.

I have no bap. for my chap which was probably pre 1795 as records for the period don't exist.
I have no marriage prior to the 1st known baptism of his children 1822 as baptism records don't exist pre 1822 nor do marriages  ::)
I only have him on 1841 census as he died before 1851 & no death records exist.
I only have his name from my 2 x g g/mother's death although I have details for his wife's parents as she lived post 1855.

"..Alexander came to New Zealand in 1860's with  :)his family."

What is the earliest evidence you have of any of your McLAREN family being in New Zealand?

"..Can you please list all the information that you see on the death certificate, 1894."
Is this record a handwritten document or a transcription?
Should be more information than you have given.......children?........cause of death?

Alexander McLAREN was a tailor, so you might expect to see him leave an estate.....I am not seeing a Will in NZ for Alexander or wife Agnes.

I am assuming, at this stage, you do not know if your McLAREN  family, individually or as family, went directly from Scotland to New Zealand.

Where did Jane McLAREN marry John HAMILTON?  I am not seeing a marriage in Victoria, New Zealand or Scotland?.

Is it possible that your McLARENs emigrated to Victoria, where Jane married, then moved on to NZ?

Jane would seem to be the only one who was somewhere other than Scotland or NZ.

It would be useful to know where and when Jane married John HAMILTON.

I don't currently have a sub to Scotlands People.  Don't have images of baptisms at all, still work in progress.
No-one has a sub to Scotland's People. It's not a subscription site. It's pay-per-view, like your NZ DIA BMD web site, but much cheaper. You can get the baptism images there. They may include names of witnesses to the baptisms, and if so these can be useful clues to relatives.

Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
