Top-of-the-hill, I don't think I can help you with Ruth, as I'm not quite clear where she fits into this family...
...and Hanes Teulu, it's remarkable how many transcription errors there are in that Probate entry for James BIRON 1858.  It refers to "...the oath of the Reverend Edward (sic) BIRON of Lympnore (sic) near Hythe in the County of Kent, sole executor".  They do actually say that they would like to hear of any transcription errors on their site, so perhaps I should do just that, in the public interest!
Would you know whether it is an expensive business getting copies of these wills from  that Irish source?

I don't need any help with Ruth - I just recognised the family from my own researches and thought it might be of interest. A cousin twice removed perhaps? She was the daughter of Henry Brydges Biron, born 1836, of your original post.

Ah, Top-of-the-hill,
I'll look into it and see whether I can find anything else about Ruth.  And did you mean she worked with her widowed mother Jane Elizabeth (nee BLEST) who married Henry Brydges in 1867...?
Keith,
Do you know whether Ruth had other forenames, as I cannot see her with her parents in the 1891 Census in Lympne, nor in the 1901?

Ruth's birth entry on GRO index (Dec.qtr.1886) confirms her mmn as Blest.

Don't know where she was in 1891 but in 1901 she's a pupil at a school in Folkestone.   Next census she is with her parents.   She appears to have died unmarried in 1983.

Oh, very well done with that, Annette7, and thanks for solving that mystery for me (and for Top-of-the-hill).  Perhaps Ruth was staying with another branch of her family on Census night 1891. And she lived to great old age, too!
Many thanks,
Keith

Keith,
Cannot help re your query about obtaining James' will. Have you checked for Edwin 1877?

Hanes Teulu,
Thanks very much for providing that info re Ruth and her whereabouts in a certain night in April 1891.  Essex girl for the night. Must see if I can find the family link to the Stilwells.
And two wills to look into, that 1858 one in Dublin, and the 1877 one, though the inference from Christine 53's earlier post on here is that  there was no will, only an administration notice in this case...
