« on: Thursday 19 December 19 16:41 GMT (UK) »
Hallo,

Need help please.
How do I outline a newspaper  article and download it to my tablet please?
Want to add it to my family tree.
Thank you and Happy Christmas.

If you are using Windows, you will have a utility called snipping tool, on the menu.  It will allow you to click and drag from one corner, and save the item.  Alternatively you can probably right-click on it and save the page to your PC.

YouTube will have tutorials on Snipping Tool.

Here's one:

If you’re viewing on a tablet I find on an IPad it’s better to screen shot what you want then using the photo editor add the highlight around the area I’m interested in.

I can only answer for IPad which is pressing the on/off button on the side the same time as the home button.  You hear a satisfying click like the shutter of a camera when it works.

That's good advice Nic as I have had the same problem on the iPad...so very helpful.

Thank you all.
Puzzled over home button?

Had to ask granddaughter where home button was.
All done now. Been trying for days.

Little late seeing this. Saving a view of a newspaper article on  Find My Past, produces a view of other articles - a little darker than the researched article which us hugh-lighted. However, a print-out has all articles wasting a lot if ink on the dark background. With ipad, the screenshot also has everything on the page not just the one article. I will check out this  snipping tool and see what l can learn. Thanks.
