Uniform/Date Identification
« on: Sunday 22 December 19 01:14 GMT (UK) »
Hello

I have a series of images given to me by a relative. I do not know whether they are from the first or second world war.

Can anyone identify the uniform/caps/badges? And can anyone see whether they are from the first or second world war?

Thanks and apologies for quality of images as I don't have a scanner.

WW2 era definitely - Royal Engineers I'd suggest.  Cap badges fairly clear, dark script on the shoulder titles where visible in the last pic.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,

Capbadge is not very clear to see ,but I think it's Royal Army Service Corps. By the way it's WW2.

Cheers,

I agree with Royal Engineers, the cap badge is the wrong shape for RASC which has points,

It's RE for sure.  early part of the war circa 1940-1 judging by the type of uniform and hats.
