They're at Cold Harbour, Oxenhall with Phillip and Susannah Owen and their children. I can;t see an immediate family connection - Susannah's maiden name is Child. The three boys are listed as paupers, so they may be being boarded out by the poor law union

Thank you Mabel for all your efforts. How sad though, that the boys are classed as paupers but I’m sure there are worse places they could have been living. At least it was not the workhouse.

Thank you again!

Thank you so much Capetown! This removes any doubt about what happened to John Griffin!
Great to have Charles’ baptism record too. Thank you

Can anyone find the baptism of Thomas Griffin as it seems John Griffin died in 1846 but this child was born in 1849 and wasn’t claimed by William Bailey?

Thomas' baptism is where the father's name confusion stems from

Thomas Griffin
Baptism    17 Dec 1848  Oxenhall
Father:    Thomas Griffin, turner
Mother: Ann

Given the change in father's name and occupation, perhaps that is her husband's death and Thomas is neither his or William Bailey's child. However that doesn't explain her 1851 marital status or why she waited until 1853 to marry William, a single man

Thomas gives the same info about his father on his marriage - definitely him as William Hall Bailey is a witness
