Elizabeth Lilley bc1750 - 1760
« on: Thursday 02 January 20 10:49 GMT (UK) »
Hi
I’m looking for this lady’s birth.
She’s my 5x great grandmother.
She married my 5xggf Samuell Amie in Rettendon on 24 June 1779. I don’t have his birth either (although did find a samuell Amey b1721 in Rettendon. Must be a link there but can’t find it.)

They had their children beginning with Joseph my 4xggf in Eastwood in 1782 and ending with Elijah in great Stambridge in 1797. Samuell dies in late 1798 and Elisabeth then has a child baseborn with surname Webb in 1799 and marries John Edwards in great Stambridge in 1799. She dies in 1811.

Joseph marries twice but my line is to Ann rice in great Stambridge in 1804. (Never found her birth either). They had my 3xggf Samuel Amey in 1811 in Eastwood.

Any help appreciated. I have ancestry and SEAX but am wondering if I’ve just missed th8ngs along the way?

Thanks.
Maldon isn’t ridiculously far away from rettendon.
I think colchester might be.
Best wishes.

Hi Rosie and Jon. Sorry, didn’t see you replies til now.
Yes, I had seen the original on SEAX ... but had missed the spelling of Amey. It chops and changes across generations.
You’d have thought it would be easier to trace my Amey ancestry, with it being a less common surname. I’ve found a handful in southern essex, and some near sible hedingham but not been able to link the latter.
