I'm looking at John Mountney, son of ? baptised 17th day of January.

Can anyone read the father's name please.

Looks like son of Mr Mountney

Agree - I think it's Mr. signifying he was probably a Gentleman.  Baptised 1666 - FindMyPast has it as Mr too.

Might it be an abbreviation for Michael? Although I do agree it looks like Mr.
