Margaret (Peggy) Gibson (Nee Shiel) B Abt 1759 Melrose, D Unk.

Margaret was born in Melrose area around 1759 to William Shiel and Helen Haig.
She later married a John Gibson about 1777 in Roxburgh.

They had  at least the following children;
James 1778
George 1781
Robert 1784
John 1788
Andrew 1790
Think there were more but have not proven this yet.

However I can not locate her death, which may be important, as I believe her husband may have gone on to marry a Sarah Robertoun in 1795 in Crailing (subject of numerous other unresolved threads).

Other trees on A -----ry also have no death for her, so no help there I'm afraid.

Annie,

I have not firmed up her father William yet, mainly because I don't have an exact DOB for Margaret.
I do have a Baptism 17 Feb 1757 in Melrose, but do not want to use that to estimate her birth date.

There might be another possible child, also called  William B 4 Jan 1778, but this does not help with Margaret's death.

For John I have an 1801 death date but this has not been verified to my satisfaction yet.

I have a Margaret Marie Shiel born 27/7/1772 in Melrose. Daughter of William Shiell and Helen (Nellie) Haig born 26/7/1742.

Helen Haig's parents are James Haig 1709-1775 and Janet Scott 1699-1795
