Henry TANSWELL, TANSELL or TANZELL, Born 1842-1848, Plymouth

Good Afternoon,

This gentleman's birthdate and place appear untraceable, made more difficult given the name and birthdate variations.  Most available sources that I know of have been checked.....GRO, Census, BDM and criminal records....but no verification sadly.  His out-of-prison time was spent largely in and around Bristol!!!

I wonder if someone could help with the birthdate and place please.

What about this baptism record in Plymouth, St Andrew

Henry TANSELL born 17 August 1845 and baptised 12 September 1845 son of William and Sophia TANSELL of Stoke Lane, William a labourer

The birth was registered in Plymouth 3rd Qtr 1845 as Henry TANSEL .

Hello Claire,

It was only verification of his birthdate/place details that were essentially missing........an interesting character, however, imprisoned 4 times totalling 13 years, 3 marriages and innumerable children!!!
