Registered as Dedman and you say mother was Dedman so presume he was illegitimate

Chances of finding who his father was are slight unless he is named on his birth or marriage cert

Where have you got the mother's name from?

As CaroleW says chances of finding a fathers name are slim to none.

Can't find him on census yet.

Where did you get details of where he was baptised?  What date was the baptism?  If details are not online and somebody tried to look it up in parish records that info would be needed to narrow the search

Essex Record Office only has records of baptisms until 1853 for St Lawrence
Registers after that may still be held at the church, try writing them everyone is usually very helpful.

I don't think his father was Walter Burrows because when he signed up for service WWl, address 44 New Road Eastbourne (1915)
his wife is Annie Lavinia Eliza Dedman married registry office 21 February 1901, children
Lilian Edith born 9 August 1903 at Eastbourne. No mention of Henry Albert although to be fair he would have been 19 by then.

Thanks - yes. Henry Albert or Albert Henry Dedman and Henry Albert or A H Burrows are one and the same

Albert Henry Dedman b 1896 was the illegitimate son of Annie Lavinia Dedman.  Annie married Wm Burrows in 1901 and her son took the name Burrows - listed as a Burrows on 1901 census.
On 1901 census he's listed as Dedman.
