COLVIN (nee KING), Margaret
« on: Sunday 12 January 20 21:51 GMT (UK) »
Hi all.  I do not know how much can be found about Margaret but any clues would be gratefully received.

Hugh Colvin was born in 1803 in Drung.  From the 1821 census, his parents were James Colvin born about 1769 and Catherine  born about 1771.

Hugh served in the 48th Foot and retired with a pension.  In 1850 in Pottle, Drung he married Margaret King. The witnesses were Mathew Tully and Elen Tully.

Margaret King appears to have been younger than Hugh as their known children were James born about 1859, Catherine baptised 1861 (location Pottle), Hugh born about 1863 and Patrick baptised 1868 (location Termon).

Hugh appears to have died in Bailieborough in 1890.  I have not confirmed any other information about Margaret.

Margaret appears to have had a relative named Daniel King born in Cavan about 1827 (although some trees show about 1834).  From his death record his parents were John King (although some trees show Patrick) and Alice Smith.  Unfortunately I do not know the exact relationship between Daniel and Margaret.
