I believe you are spot on with that double fronted Cottage with two roof dormer windows and small central skylight!
As in photograph https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2146378 in Reply #3 above.

A great angle Forfarian from the hill and acknowledged your earlier link / post.

If the original Poster has missed the other maps, pm me your email, Mark

Glenvarren looks quite probable.

See https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2146378

However Glenvarren Cottage is shown on the second edition of the Ordnance Survey six-inch map

The only mention of Glenvarren in the Name Books is Glenvarren Sike, which is the burn that flows north-eastwards to enter the Mosspaul Burn near Fiddleton Bankhead.

So I think it is likely that your folk lived in a farm or croft near Glenvarren Sike.

Forfarian,

Interesting the Name book image lists Glenvarren Sike (a stream), Fiddleton Bank End and Fiddleton Wood on the same page.

Yes, I saw that too, and noted that there was no mention of a building called Glenvarren anything.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
