CWGC would like to contact relatives of Pvt John Hamilton Irwin - First Battalion Scot Guards - Service number  10636 - died 12 October 1918 - He was 29 and the son of John and Jane Irwin of Glasgow. He left a widow, Williaminia Irwin.

He died in Glasgow (at home) on the 12th of October 1918 of Pulmonary T.B. having suffered from it for over 11 months, Influenza for 6 days and capilliary bronchities 3 days.

Recent research has shown that John is buried at Cathcart Cemetery Renfrewshire.  The CWGC are in the process of producing a headstone to mark his grave.

British Army WWI Pension Records 1914-1920 for John Hamilton Irwin show John was born Lurgan Armagh - Police Constable - 51 Naburn Street Glasgow.
John was married to Williamina C Fisher 17 Oct 1912 Glasgow   - they had two children - Margaret Jane Irwin 13 August 1913 and John Hamilton Irwin 20 September 1915.

There are entries on the  Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland, Electoral Registers, 1857-1962 for Mrs. Williamina Irwin. Caledonia Road Glasgow (1921/1922)
1823 New City Road in 1923 -   403 Caledonia Road in 1926  -

Minnie's father could be George Wallace Fisher - 1849 - 1906 Glasgow 
Mother Margaret Sharpe born 1845 Kirkcudbright.
