Hallmark,
Fiirst of all, I find it extremely generous of those who hold these records to allow us to see the original documents for free and then to be able to print them off...
But here's a thing...the death record of Margaret COMPTON on 6th May 1890 states that she dies in Workhouse Lane (I think), that she is from Carrickfergus (must get my Irish geography up to speed), and that she is a "widow of a labourer".
Some things do not quite fit there, unless there was some kind of family disruption that as yet I know nothing about.  Or that this is not James COMPTON's wife at all.
His own 1912 death certificate is quite straightforward by comparison with this general register of deaths in Larne.  Perhaps someone gave the wrong info upon Margaret's decease, possibly...

I hope you enjoyed making new discoveries rather than me just posting them.

I didn't study them. Is she the only Margaret?

So far she is, but I must delve more.  That Christmas Day 1875 marriage in Ballymena gives the information that James's father is a Thomas COMPTON, 'lawyer".  And that Margaret WILSON's father is Andrew WILSON, "farmer".
The bride hails from Cloughogue (looks like).  Must get myself a map of the area!

The parish of Ballymena is given as Kilcon...ula (struggling with that one, too)

Ballymena is in the parish of Kirkinriola, sometimes Kilconriola. They both mean the same thing.

So Mgt' death is not where it should be...

Last known alive 1880

dead before 1901
