Have you looked at the marriage certificates of Robert Cochrane to Catherine Walker and Alexander Cochrane to Jane Beattie, just to be sure you have their correct parents?
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

The Cochrane/Walker marriage was 1854 but Robert died after 1855 so death cert was recommended in my earlier reply 2

Would the 1854 marriage cert have parents names as it was so close to Civil Reg?

At best, the OPR entry may include father's name for the bride, Carole.

Probably not, though some of the Edinburgh OPRs do mention the bride's father's name.

So yes I have Alexander Cochrane marrying Jane Beattie on March 20th 1891 in Calmachie, Glasgow.
His parents are listed as Robert Cochrane - Blacksmith (Deceased) and Catherine Walker - Silk Weaver

I haven't been able to look at the marriage certificate between Robert and Catherine so I can't confirm 100% that his parents are John and Jean. It just really seems that way.

The Cochrane/Walker marriage was before Civil Registration so probably will not give you full info re parentage.  Please see my reply #2 which recommends Robert's death cert instead

So i found the death for Robert Cochrane,  he drowned June 21st 1864 in the River Clyde near the Dalmarnock bridge.
Parents listed as John Cochrane  and Jane Tait, both deceased.
Looking now for records of John and Janes deaths.

If both died before 1864 you need to use Scotlands People to look for their deaths.  Check the 1861 first to see if either were alive then as it will help narrow the search.  Was any occupation shown for father John on the 1864 death cert
